ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: Summer 2010

The daddy and I spent a lot of today getting sentimental about the birth of our first daughter, six years ago, that is, when we weren't running ragged trying to put her party together. She had a great day, though she maintains that she's still five.

Too hot out and the storm never really happened; the kids are excited about the big birthday party this afternoon; I did my new Nia DVD and am up way too late baking birthday cupcakes...and the fridge smells like jello.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: Summer 2010

Poor full moon, I tend to blame so much on you, but today really did feel like a strange day, and yesterday was kind of odd as well.

RESOLUTIONS: Physical activity

This week, I will do something physical every day, be it yoga, water aerobics, a solo walk, or yard work.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: Summer 2010

Spent a lot of time this week working on the yard, which is surprising for me; the rose bushes look much better and I feel like I deserve my glass of wine tonight.

LISTS Things I Did This Week That Pushed My Boundaries

  • figured out how to post photos from an online source
  • ate quinoa for breakfast

  • fail: couldn't find a way to explain to my daughter "but how do you get the beef from the cow?"

Oh yoga, I have missed you so, despite how sore I feel today!

I love this! Makes me want to really learn to crochet!

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: Summer 2010

A dentist appointment doesn't really scream "start of a good day" to me, but it went well (no cavities!), then got some things done, tried a new quinoa recipe, and am feeling quite optimistic about improving our house and health this summer.

LISTS Things I Am Looking Forward To

  • going to the yoga workshop on Friday
  • making some money by selling off some of our old baby stuff
  • the dumpster is here: let the decluttering begin!
  • water aerobics (more fun that I anticipated)
  • putting up wallpaper to cover the wrecked wall by the back door (not my fault)
  • new knitting projects in the book I bought last week
  • a little free time next week when the kids are at soccer camp
  • going to see Despicable Me
  • receiving the Nia DVDs I ordered

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: Summer 2010

I have maybe caught up on sleep, and stuff is finally getting done: the raspberry patch cleaned up (still waiting on the raspberries), a dumpster in the driveway for decluttering...what will tomorrow bring?

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: Summer 2010

There are certain things that symbolize courtship for me --- authors, music, certain songs, some of the concrete things we used 13 years ago ---and the loss of those things creates an ache in my chest; nostalgia doesn't mean I dislike our present.

LISTS House Stuff To Do

  • buy supplies to repair screen in bathroom (CT)
  • buy window film to cover cupboard doors (HD)
  • look for a new lamp for bedroom
  • pruning in yard (dead branches, etc.)

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: Summer 2010

Up past midnight, way too late, but I have too many ideas in my head that I am trying to work out.
