Swim fun!

Watching children swim and play is a reminder to me to stop sweating the small stuff. To try to capture some of their attitude. Life doesn't have to be as difficult or boring as we make it, it can and is full of fun, we adults just have find it.

RESOLUTIONS: Don't sweat it so much!!!!!!!

Stop worrying so much about house work, and keeping the house clean. Make more time for the fun stuff. Things to do over the summer.

Swan lake!

Swan lake!

Bowen Island is near where I live. This wonderful display of nature was on the lake there. When I look at her I relax, and realize the beauty that is all around us.

HAPPINESS HACKS On: Clutter

I watch the t.v. show Hoarders. It always makes me feel better. I realize that my small piles here and there are not so bad. Yes, they need to be gone through, but I can walk through my house, it's clean and kept, and I am doing a pretty good job.

HAPPINESS HACKS On: Relationships & marriage

If you think positively about your marriage and think it is happy, then it will be. I read that in a book. I tried it out for a few days. So far it is working very well.

HAPPINESS HACKS On: Memories & traditions

We've started our own tradition. Scrapbooking together. My daughters and I each get a set of pictures to scrap. We not only have fun doing a hobby we all enjoy, but we get to spend time talking, laughing and enjoying each other as well.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

I have scrapbooked two pages the last three days in a row. I have enlisted the girls help and they have scrapbooked pages as well. We have enjoyed each others company and have had fun doing our hobby. We are hoping to keep this tradition up.

HAPPINESS HACKS On: Fun

Sailing! The fresh air, blue sky, and water. The beautiful scenery. Being with my husband and kids. Joy.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

The last couple of days have been slow. We have stayed at home because the girls have been sick. It's been so nice. We need to stay home more and relax and be in OUR place. Slow down!!! Enjoy!!!!! We don't always need to rush and be running.

HAPPINESS HACKS On: Clutter

I have been organizing, purging and decluttering thanks to a great book called. "Throw away 50 things". It's so freeing to get rid of stuff that I don't use, or want or haven't finished. Whether it be physical clutter or emotional clutter. Freedom.

My home.

My home.

This is just down the road from my house. I get to see this everyday. I am so lucky.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

Watching the womans free skate at the olympics last night. I was reminded that happiness comes from courage, the ability to overcome sadness and adversity. Joannie took bronze, but we all would have cheered for her even if she had come in last.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

Canada beat Russia last night, the first time in 50 years. They also made olympic history and broke the record for the most goals scored in a first period. That put a big smile on my face.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

T was sick last night, stayed up till two to do icky laundry. So didn't get up and make Hubby breakfast or pack his lunch. I am tired so I am a little short with the girls. Hopefully it gets better.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

We had sex last night in the shower. Trying to find places and times to make love more. With two kids in the house it isn't always easy. We will keep trying. We actually sat and had a conversation without kids yesterday to. We need to do that more.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

The "think happy" method does work to an extent. It definitely made me think happier but I still had to fight the bad mood.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

I watched my kids sleeping last night. They looked so peaceful. Pretty. They are something to be happy about.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

Happiness is a little harder to find today. It's raining!!! Again.!!!!! I have decided to sing a little and watch a movie. Something I find fun. A positive attitude with hopefully help. We'll see if the "Think Happy" method works.

PERSONAL COMMANDMENTS My truths.

  • Be me.
  • Treat others as you would like to be treated.
  • You can't make everyone happy all of the time.
  • Not everyone is going to like you.
  • The people you dislike probably dislike you.
  • Don't lie, cheat or steal.
  • Life is to short. Don't waste time on things that don't matter.
  • Don't burn bridges that you may have to cross again later.
  • Work and keep the relationships that matter, forget the rest.
  • Better a messy house and happy family, than a unhappy family and a clean house.
  • Think before I speak.
  • Making yourself sick by worrying about things will only bring you down. Let things go.
  • A healthy body lives longer.
  • More isn't always better, sometimes it's just more.

My dad's love for his family is amazing. He is there for all of us. He even helped catch a rat for my sister when her husband was away. He is a great friend and helps people as much as he can. He is a great example being kind.

We're fools whether we dance or not so we may as well dance. Draw a crazy picture, write a nutty poem, sing a mumble-gumble song, whistle through your comb, do a loony-goony dance cross the kitchen floor.

ONE-SENTENCE JOURNAL From: My life.

I thought about my kids watching tv in the living-room, healthy, happy, and wanting me to be in the same room watching. It made me smile. It's something to be happy about.

SECRETS OF ADULTHOOD

Life is to short to be unhappy. Nothing is as bad as it seems. Mom isn't always right. Nothing worth having is easy. No one notices your mistakes as much as you do.

  • Sex
  • Hugs and kisses
  • Cheese cake.
