A bit of a rough start to the day, but I got out and went swimming and that did a lot to cheer me. I am trying hard to stay positive about the job search. I have good days and bad ones; today I was discouraged. Swimming helped lift my mood though.

You can choose FOR cheerfulness and AGAINST depression by "rebooting". Don't respond the way you always do to a negative occurrence. Changing your reaction changes your behavior and that changes your outlook. Unless you want to be depressed-I don't.

I really did come down with something. I went swimming only twice a week the last 2 weeks. I had a big disappointment last week (you can read about it on my blog ckswarriorqueen.wordpress.com) but chose to swim instead of be depressed. So YAY for me!

I feel like I am coming down with something. I felt better earlier so I went swimming as planned, but when I got back home I just started feeling worse and worse. My throat is sore and I am very tired. I am going to get to bed early tonight.

Swim teacher says we'll be doing all our work in the deep end now because we are THAT good! I am ready to take intermediate next time. SO EXCITED! And, swam the length of the small pool at the end of class. :)

Today was my 3rd interview w/Container Store, and again I was very relaxed and confident. Then, to Brooklyn Hts for Howard's opening. Saw Mary, Jacque, Adanes and met Mary's whole family. It was great to just sit & chat with old friends. Occupy 2213!

I had my 3rd swimming class today. It is getting easier to do many things. I had a breakthrough w/breathing today. I'm feeling more confident. Teacher is surprised I have no fear of the water. I really do feel like the water is happy to have me back.

I walked yesterday in the FREEZING cold over to Bowne Park. No one was there but the geese. I took advantage of that to go on the swings. On the way home I heard & saw a type of bird I'd never seen before. I looked it up, and this is what I saw.

Do some activity you used to love, but has somehow dropped away from your life. For me, that's swimming. I haven't been in a pool or owned a bathing suit in 35 yrs. Today, I signed up for a beginning swim class at the Y. I start Sunday!

Get up early and start the day with a shower and a good breakfast. EASE into your day. It makes everything go better to take the time to properly start yourself up. Think of it as priming the pump.
